So OP here. Fucking love this camera. Colours are superb straight from the raw. Even using a average Russian lens currently. Reason for buying? Got it cheap £480..used to shoot film but getting too expensive and I find myself scanning anyway. Sold my film gear and got this. Rubber falling off (will replace with sexy leather tonight) and covered in dust. Pic related taken with Jupiter 12. Just a bit of sharpening and contrast.

I have a Jupiter 12,8 and a Industar 52mm....I used to have them on Zorki's. Might plump for that 7artisans 35mm f2 at some point.

What do I mean by this? Rangefinder cameras are more than just Leica brands to me bud so fuck off with your brand loyalty. I prefer Bessa bodies and Voigtlander lenses anyway.

M240 has liveview and a better battery but is also a little bit thicker.
M9 is showing its age with buffer size and the shutter sound is whack too.

Companies should bring out a rangefinder digital and undercut Leica. The additional design effort can be negated by having very basic digital functions.

Absolutely. You would think Voigtlander would do digital Bessa's...Id think they would do well. The X-pro 3 (being their niche line) could of been so much of this but Fuji dropped the ball. The R-D1 was initially released at the wrong time.

the rangefinder mechanism is very expensive
the fuji x100 and xpro lines tried to do this by offering literally everything except that mechanism and they were very successful
probably at least as successful as anyone else who might try to undercut leica
