My Canon 50mm 1.8 is a great astro lens (for $150), once you get past the 2000$ mark you can literally buy some of the best astro gear available that can do way more than this lens offers for $8000
For example you could buy a tracker with a star guider for $2000 easily and use it with any lens and any camera and do way longer exposures which would out resolve anything your going to get with a 58mm f/.95 lens
No matter how much light you let in at f/.95 you still have the star trail issue and at 58mm that's going to limit you to less than 10s exposures unless you use a tracker which defeats the purpose of needing a f.95 lens anyway because you can expose as long as you need to with said tracker.
Nikon trying to market this as an astro lens is just a gimmick to trick stupid people anyone with $8000 to spend and a brain would go with literally any other option than this gimmick lens.
