I’d be lying if I said I didn’t impulse buy the xh1 because of the deal right now for the camera, grip, and three batteries but that camera is an all rounder with features for many different multitudes of work. Going from went from an x100f to xh1.

But what about the xpro3? I don’t see a definitive outcome per-say

To be fair, I think a lot of news and journalism pros are stuck in an “abusive relationship” with Canon and Nikon. They’ve invested so much in lenses and accessories it doesn’t make sense to switch. Also their work is being put on websites and magazines, not blown up to insane sizes so any pro body is fine.

Please... Look at the number of lenses Canon is bringing to RF. They're dead serious about it. Look at number of lenses already present on eos M. Nikon has two lenses for their already questionable apsc attempt, no new lenses in perceivable future, MANUAL focus f0.95, and a big question mark on new z mount lenses. They copied Sony's business model for mirrorless, down to gimping apsc at every turn, and they'll be buried by it.

the basic 1.8 ones, it's something, but if I'm using a Z I rather use an adapter with a G lenses

Fuji has a better mirrorless line up, if you want a mirrorless system that isn't expensive or focused on muh presets editing, fuji is the best option

Not really, M-D made a point of having no image review and no settings display at all, while Fuji has just obscured it a bit (and if you're both shooting and chimping with the EVF, the unusual flip screen changes completely nothing)

If you hate the feel of your current Fuji, try the X Pro out in a store first. I find that a lot of the compact mirrorless bodies are very uncomfortable to hold, but that’s a purely subjective thing.

Not to be that retard, but when do you even look at the LCD of a digital camera? Maybe it's just because my d800s screen is so old and so shit that I never even bother with it, but I never look at the LCD. You have an EVF don't you? The only time you'd need an LCD is for macros with live view.

- Long tele shots with a tripod
- Video shooting (especially with attachments like a gimbal)
- Any kind of chimping or sorting images after a shoot
It's possible to do most of that with an EVF, but a flippy screen removes the need for contortionist skills, and gives you better awareness of the surroundings in case of video.

How did you like that transition? I went from a D7200 to an X100F for a travel camera but I miss having weather resistance and interchangeable lenses (mostly because 35mm is an awkward mid-point). Asking since I'm thinking of upgrading to an X-Pro 2 to keep the same style but with some better features.

The 50mm lens became the defacto standard as the flange distance for a 135 SLR is a bit over 40mm, a symmetrical lens focal length is equal to it's distance from the optical centre of the lens to the film plane - i.e, about 50mm at the absolute shortest.

A 35mm symmetrical lens on a 20mm fp distance is just as easy as a 50mm on a 40mm fp distance, hence why samyang released an 80g 35mm f2.8 lens for sony ff, hence why slr pancakes tend to be 40mm.
