* f/4.5 aperture to get decent DoF to cover the whole head, with a bit of leeway, and not risk a nosebleed or an eye or an ear out of focus
* 1/160 shutter speed to avoid vibration and motion blur. 1/(focal length) is the minimum “recommended” to avoid vibration from handholding, but people are not completely static, their expressions change, they move around a bit etc. One stop faster shutter speed than the minimum recommended makes sense to increase the keepers that have no motion blur
* metering is center weighted (her face) + ¾ of a stop. This is a long established rule on how to meter for Caucasian skin, if you have no grey card or incident meter.
* iso2000 cause that’s what’s needed for the above settings which are far more important than noise on modern full frame camera.
Essentially the guy used his medium’s (modern full frame cam) strength (high iso performance), to get a technically sound shot fit for the purpose it was commissioned for.
