Some massive failures are being reported recently. Some even among lower bodies like rx10 iii. With Sony charging 400 bucks to have it repaired if out of warranty

I had to get a shutter replacement in my a7 iii after about 6 months. It somehow got damaged and would leak light. Warranty repair was fixed and shipped back in one day.

Nikon's only problem is oil on sensors. Other than that their cameras are sealed and reliable. Sony has had multiple reliability issues. They're improving but at a ridiculously slow rate.

Nothing mechanical, just cheap material on shutter itself. Very silly mistake by them. And they know perfectly well that their cams are flimsy by only offering 1yr warranties.
