>>3578043My 2 cents about this, since I also recently bought a camera:
If you ever need more than 1fps with continous AF tracking, don't buy it.
If you ever hike or take your camera into nature, don't buy it. Those batteries barely last. You'll carry so many it'll become annoying.
The aforementioned reasons were why I bought a 6D Mark ii. However, I'm an adventure freak with a deathwish, so the above 2 drawbacks are critical for me. Counterpoints in favor of the RP to follow:
If you shoot subjects that don't move much, enjoy being able to use ANY adapted glass and have focus peaking for the manual ones, go for it. Read: nature, portraits, your dragon dildo collection, etc.
If you're ever thinking about becoming more serious with video (i mean mostly requiring color grading), go for it. It's a decent entry option from the canon ecosystem (read up on IPB vs ALL-I and you'll see why the 6Dii sucks shitballs here).
Yes, the RP mount is promising as fuck, and I expect super good, cheaper glass, in the not-so-near future(read: you'll be out shopping again for a camera body by then).
Other than that, fuck it, man. Buy the best you can afford. Always look on the second hand markets, there's some real gems there if you have the patience to look and don't spaz out when it comes to negotiating.
>>3578094I'll add high ISO performance to that DR. Picrelated is just ISO4000 and the shadows are already cooked. Just take into account that I didn't do NR in post, so it's pretty much almost a SOOC picture. I've had usable pictures up to ISO12800 with it, but it requires some Lightroom magic.
Happy purchasing, and remember that skillz>toolz.
