Sort of...

Astro photography and Astronomical photography require a shit ton of expertise, kit and know-how to do right. Boomers have the resources and spare time to do this shit right.

Older gentlemen have also moved away from the light polluted hell holes they spent their formative year in.

Sorry kid, if you want to get into Astro you need a $20K rig and a nice house in the country. It's just the way it is. Even then you could have shitty "weather" for weeks.

Just leave the old farts alone. Some of them find comets and super novas and shit :)

The human eye isn't well adapted to seeing the contents of the night sky. If you want to actually be able to understand what's there you need to do extensive level editing.

How do you guys feel the colors on this one are? They look pretty shit to me, I feel like if I had been there with my sony A7 I could have taken a better picture than some nerd with his New Horizons camera brand no one even knows load images from its sd card on your computer anyhow

would be better if they just accepted the surrealistic photoshop look instead of doing like 2 exposure stack and trying to make it look somewhat like they didn't photoshop it too much.
i don't like it, it's gimmicky and bloggy and something you can watch a YT how-to on.

I guess it depends on your whole photography philosophy. Do you want something that reflects reality or just spending that looks cool? The sky has obviously never looked like that to any human but maybe that’s just not their objective.
