So I have been really struggling with getting the right skintones.
At best they look as someone applied a filter and at worst its a nightmare to look at.

Found your problem. Color science is not a meme and skin tones are much easier on Canon/Fuji than on Nikon/Sony.

It's not impossible, but takes more practice and for some shoots more work.

Moron, it's not binary. It's not black and white. It's easier/harder. Lots of Nikon shooters are producing lots of great portraits. It still takes MORE PRACTICE and even with that practice is sometimes HARDER on a shoot. And this is coming from a Nikon fan.
