Mine currently is a night vision camera.

>IR flashlight invisible to human eye.

Test camouflage effectiveness against IR.

Try 850, 940, and normal red filters with it.

not OP, but no.
going greyscale with IR is a simple way to make it look good
additionally, at night, the camera sensor detects IR essentially as its own color, so OP's pic probably just looks like reddish shit before processing.
If you shoot IR, a channel swap will bring colors back to close to original, but the woods effect will make foliage look bizarre because it reflects IR light.
I shot a couple of these in NYC, all of them are channel swapped, but they're all shot with a D90, 720nm IR filter.

Be careful with that ir flashlight, it'll still damage people's or your own vision if you're not careful.

Cool photo, and your question makes me wonder if one can repurpose a dslr to work as a security camera through tethered live view. How long would the sensor last in continuous usage?

IR isn’t nearly as damaging to the eyes as UV, it’s non-ionizing. Pretty much the only way you’re going to damage your retina with IR is if you’re using an IR source for heating or have a 50mW+ IR laser.
The sensor would last longer than you’d have the motivation to keep it working. Points of failure on DSLRs are the mirror and shutter, not the sensor. Also when IR-capable Amcrest cameras are $35 bucks and have built-in WIFI, it moots the point.
Before I got bogged down at work, I was working on converting my D90 to do UV in addition to IR and visible light, then doing multispectral photogrammetry with Agisoft Metashape.
