>>3592200>hit a nerveLol, no, you just don't have a clue what you're talking about, I've been building speakers for over 15 years and have a degree in it.
>my fronts act as subwoofersLol, no, they don't, how much distortion do they have at this supposed 18hz?
>no correlation between room size and SDNot what I said, but on that point, those speakers are far too big for your box room.
And no, smaller cones don't = less distortion or better reproduction at low volumes, lighter cones lead to less distortion as long as they can remain rigid and are resonant free, some 2" compression drivers play down into the lower midrange very loud off very little power, thanks to a very stiff, very light cone, on a huge voice coil in a strong ass magnet.
>bypassing the xo'sLol, no, you're getting bi-amped and active confused, bi-amping is a way to get a salesman to sell you twice as many amps as you need. Active is where all the crossover duties are done by an external processor, and when combined with good DSP can lead to some outstanding results that just aren't reasonable or possible in a passive system,eg. a 24db passive crossover at 200hz would cost $300+ in just copper and capacitors if done passively, and boosting a signal is impossible, you can only cut.
>HK receivers and Bryston ampsI mean, if you want to waste your money on those huge boxes of marketing drivel, that's up to you.
>they are made for wallsLMAO, you think that will stop the boundary effect from the corner, which is gonna give you a nice 6db peak somewhere?
Cute that you brought out the checkbook, but this is one of the finest cases of dunning kruger syndrome I've come across, don't worry, boomer audiophiles are all the same, I'm sure you will make friends with the other single dads.
