Need help finding a good camera for film

I have a budget of around $1400, and I am interested in what you guys would suggest around that price point for a camera, and a lens.

I want an upgrade from the Canon T5 ive been using for quite some time. 4K is a big plus but not mandatory, and while I would like a full frame sensor, I am fine with a Micro 4/3rds or a APS-C

Look dude, whether you know it or not, you're stirring up a shit storm. I would say you'd be better off speaking to a photographer in real life whose work you trust. Barring that, at least specify the type of photos you shoot most often so the thread does not immediately devolve into sensor hell.

Sony a7ii, easily get a decent condition second hand one and a lens within your budget and nothing else is gonna come close, especially if you don't have giant ass light banks.

If you're happy to drop to 1080p, then you might be able to start looking at a second hand canon/sony cine body. Old reds are not worth the hassle.

You don't say what you're trying to film and therefore what lenses you might need. If you can get buy with a kit lens or cheap adapted manual primes I would say try and swing an X-T3, even if it's used. For video nothing can touch it at its price point. I honestly think it has better overall 4k than the A73 except in extreme low light.

If you can't swing an X-T3 then consider the X-T30.

If this is mainly for vlogging then Canon's M6 II deserves to be mentioned because the 4k is uncropped and sharp (finally Canon) and you can't beat DPAF for vlogging or for run-n-gun. Fucking Tony Northrup of all people is abandoning his 4k gear in the field for the EOS R @ 1080p because he's in love with DPAF and shallow DoF, which tells you how good DPAF is.

You get the adaptability of a mirrorless and you get full frame coverage on the entire canon lineup, every m42 screw mount lens and every manual nikon F lens as well.

Anyone with a budget doesn't have the render farm necessary to edit 4k video. Not the best choice anyway because it has a stupid screen and can't tether. It does video but it's definitely not what it's made for

Full frame cameras theoretically offer the best IQ, but with the most compromises in cost and quality on a budget. Most budget FF lenses have such bad IQ that the larger sensor becomes a moot point. However it does give you an upgrade path.

Fuji lenses are basically all garbage with very little exception. Fuji video codecs are an utter joke and look like vomit. There are exactly two reasons to buy a fuji: tactile experience and jpeg output. If you don't care about either of those (you def shouldn't care about jpg output unless you're a perma pleb or a woman), then don't get a fuji.

MFT has the most advantages when it comes to cost and quality, but the lowest theoretical IQ ceiling. Whether or not your shooting will ever meet that ceiling is debatable and something you'll need to answer for yourself. However you will always have a shallower DoF so if you demand the shallow DoF effect on a budget than MFT isn't for you since wide aperture MFT lenses are expensive. That said, MFT has tons of affordable f/1.8 primes that give you the same DoF for any equiv. angle of view as an f/3.6 FF lens, which is typically wide enough for a mildly strong bokeh effect. You can also just increase your focal length and step back for more bokeh. Despite what people say, noise is not an issue on MFT unless you need to shoot higher than ISO 6400, which really is extremely rare to never.

You want new or used fullframe? Honestly a new body alone might eat up most if not all of that 1400 if you're in the market for something current. Think about lens cost too.
