>>3602864Yep. To follow up from my above comment (and expand on yours) - The whole celebrity culture thing is purely driven by marketing, and we are all susceptible to it. Oftentimes we consider a woman attractive (or super attractive) only because media says she is.
The prime example is Scarlett Johansson. I'm convinced the entire notion of her being beautiful is one massive psy-op.
In her early work, like Ghost World or The Perfect Score, she was cast as the awkward "girl next door" type. She was a plain-jane, pure and simple.
But then one audition with Harvey Weinstein and then being cast in the Michael Bay film "The Island" changed everything. As part of the marketing strategy for that movie, an emphasis was placed on how "out of this world" attractive ScarJo is. And media has stuck to that line ever since. Hell, about a week ago I was listening to some radio djs, and during the convo one of them said, "Sam, name an insanely hot chick." And the guy, without skipping a beat said "Oh, Scarlett Johansson".
Nobody is totally immune to this kind of media trickery. But I'll always take the 5/10 plain-jane ScarJo as exhibit A that said trickery exists.
