Did you watch the rest of the video? All but one of the Sony lenses were sharper than Fuji's, especially outat the edges. If that's you thing, you definately should go with the Sony. Northrup says he'd rather have the Fuji 18-55 over the Sony 16-50 because it's a full stop faster.

On a completely unrelated note, why is Northrup telling his barber to make him look like Stephen Strange?

A few things.
Sony RRP is over $300.
Fuji is also a kit lens. Buying with a camera comes at around $200.
Sony has disgusting fringing, barrel distortion and etc, literally way worse in everything else. Not to mention its also slower.
