That tree in the foreground hides the most impressive and beautiful part of the cliff face and frankly ruins the entire photo.

Classic example of someone following all the standard rules of composition even if it makes the image worse.

It's blue skies, and a subject that allows use of a tripod. If you have noise in a shot like that, it's either intentional or you have no excuse. And I don't see why you would add noise to a photo like that.

Photos taken outdoors with blue sky visible should never have visible noise, as sunlight is bright enough to ensure proper exposure at ISO 100.

Noise is there because he put digital red filter on during conversion from colour. Or used one when shooting jpeg, same thing. It's got nothing to do with lenses or iso. Red filter takes away blues, darkens sky and causes noise.

1. Darken skies, either to make clouds standout, or to create contrast with the rest of the landscape.
2. Cut atmospheric haze and fog.
3. Subject specific increase in contrast, for instance poppy field (poppies get brighter, foliage darker).

Deep red is far more popular in landscape than portrait. In portrait is gives a ghostly, pale look to skin and darkens most eyes (blue, green), not a flattering look for most.
Orange is more popular for beauty shots. Even green for models with great skin, to give them a tan.

Ken is genuinely not a bad photographer, he just has poor taste regarding some subjects. Having watched his newer youtube videos, I've come to the conclusion that he's much less of a retard then he's memed to be. The guy has a few quirky opinions, a saturation fetish, and often manages to put his foot in his mouth, but on the other hand some of his work is genuinely quite accomplished.

Ken doesn't use a tripod because modern cameras can shoot at ISO 25600 with no noise and still be cropped to 3 MP and be printed 5 meters wide, according to him. He has this whole thing against tripods on his website.

Yeah doesn't make sense to me either.
Digital red filter "pushes" the red channel a stop or two, which is no biggie for modern sensors. And if it was, you'd probably see noise in the reds, like skintones or red leaves etc., not the sky.

Even if you don't need the long shutter speed, a tripod lets you compose your shot down to the millimeter and forces you to take more time.

Open photoshop. Open bw conversion filter. Select red filter. Look what happens to noise on blue surfaces.
