I use my 1D as my main camera and it's nearly perfect besides its limited sensitivity.
The only thing I could want is custom modes which Canon didn't add until the 1D X for some reason; I guess you're meant to operate the three button controls quicker?
After using the D1 and some Kodaks from the period (and earlier), the Nikon was trash even at the time.
The Kodaks (DCS 500, 600, 700) look and feel like modern DSLRs; I can't tell what the Nikon's like because there's nothing similar to it.
I'd have been especially angry if I'd paid a premium for it years ago when it commanded high prices.
I mean, why the fuck would you make the ISO control button the smallest on the entire camera and hide it beneath a metal cover?
