The funny thing about tony is that either he or his wife seem to have been born rich. Most likely him, which explains his wife. Their house probably cost $4 million. He is a shutterbug who likes cameras, and he desperately wanted to make money off of his passion, even though he could never be a photographer because he doesn't seem to know the first thing about photography. The reason he wants to make money is clearly not because he needs it, but because he's in middle age and still has never accomplished anything besides spending his parents' money. So he buys hundreds of these stupid cameras and makes this totally half-assed video series with awful cinematography and editing and writing, but it still looks like something a 12-year-old came up with. He may even be making money off of it, considering how shitty all the "competition" is on youtube.

I have met a guy like this before, always dicking around trying to come up with "projects" to validate himself because he feels bad about being born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I'm not a Tony expert, maybe someone else can fill me in on some details I'm missing. That's just my impression.

I looked at fstoppers, piximperfect, theoria apophasis, thomas heaton, bh photo...
None looked like that, but it's simple chart, so that's why I asked. On more popular ones it's 10k per day, but stays at 10k for longer period. If there are peaks they are only at 1k.

This one is very specific. I had to check if it's even real, but it is.

10k subscribers on sept. 16 - 23
three weeks with no new subscribers
10k subscribers on oct. 14-21
nine weeks with no new subscribers
10k subscribers on dec. 23-30
three weeks with no new subscribers

Tony is knowledgeable enough, can take a decent photo or two (although Chelsea is definitely the better photog) and his videos are, for the most part, well done. well, at least the videos done in studio. the on-location shoots do suffer from some lackluster editing. sure, he does spout some nonsense every so often, but I've seen far worse, like Ken Wheeler.

I once did some googling and found that their current house was like $600k iirc.
Also found a phone number for Chelsea that matched with her snapchat, she was also online on whatsapp but the whatsapp is gone now so she probably switched after someone else stalked her.

Almost all of them use 35mm cameras and B&W film, which is completely useless knowledge to have today. You then spend a lot of time in the darkroom, developing, enlarging, doing lots of stuff with various chemical baths. None of this is relevant to how photos are taken today. Imagine taking an auto shop class but only working on vehicles from the 40s, or taking a computer class and working on an Apple II.

Do you think working as stock image photographer has sort of damaged their approach to photos and video? Everything they produce (photos and video) seems so sterile it's distracting, and the newer videos look even weirder.

They're just amateur camera enthusiasts. They mostly likely have zero sales on shutterstock. They are influencers: the point of their videos is to demonstrate that you, too, can make money doing shutterstock (you can't), but only if you buy these expensive lenses (they won't help). It's an advertisement for Shutterstock and for the lenses, simultaneously.

The only reason they actually do the stock photos is to show you that they really walk the walk. They know that we are all going to search up their photos on shutterstock, thereby verifying that they are the "real deal."

He worked in the tech field coding and writing like C++ code manuals or some shit before the bubble popped and made alot of money that way. Then then started doing stock photography before it got saturated and I still think he makes some passive income off of that. Add in book sales and ad revenue from vids and they've got a stable income.
Tony's a shit photographer but he's not a stupid dude.

My ex college roommate used SDP in one of her photography classes at uni. Nothing they teach in those courses can't be learned via online tutorials or videos. Anyone who says otherwise is either trying to sell you a class or justify their shitty financial decisions.
