And yes, there are many talented ones that stuck with the 1DX Mark II because of the bitrate and color science in addition to a great variety of lenses. It's in no way a match with a real cinema camera, but for the price and for its flexibility, it's pretty good.
Not that Nikon should try to outcompete Canon in this field, but they could atleast have offered more features to fully utilize the CFE speeds and make it a hybrid too. That was a great selling point of the 1DX Mark II and now III.
Again, the least they could have done would be to use the same live view autofocusing system as on the D780.
This was supposed to be their last flagship camera. Atleast make it memorable in a positive way like the 1DX Mark III.
That could have been done by making a camera that excells over the other 2 in the photography field with a huge buffer, 14bit 18-20 FPS uncompressed in live view, and a great autofocusing system in both OVF and live view that has the best tracking out of all the models.
But as what some have suspected, this is just a rushed upgrade to the D5 for the Olympics as Nikon might be investing all their resources on proceeding with the Z line, probably a Pro mirrorless which hopefully might be their greatest release yet.
