I will say especially in good light (though this is true of almost literally any sensor ever) it's doing quite well, and in general it's definitely one of the nicer phone cams I've seen, but I still wouldn't say it makes me feel insecure about the quality of m43 even when using a kit lens. Considering how the performance degrades much more rapidly in non-ideal conditions, how many aberrations appear in the shots on account of the glass simply not being as good as what you'd have on a MILC, there's still certainly some lacking, even if I do believe this is quite enough for people who don't want to be photographers per se. Even beyond that, ergonomics/handling/controls are a big reason I enjoy even just my humble gx85 more than shooting with my phone and I don't think that'll go away even as phones advance.
I know these recent 108mp sensors in phones use pixel binning with all of the computational stuff to try and deal with the poor individual pixel size and the noise/DR consequences that can bring, but if there's no additional compromises beyond that, there's no way camera manufacturers wouldn't implementing this same kind of tech ASAP - much in the same way that they'll likely be pushed into implementing more computational augmentation in general into their bodies once those kinds of features allow phones to actually threaten high end cameras within the niche dedicated cameras occupy.
