"Yeah that's right - we're still inside"- Edition We'll have 3 themes that you can chose from. • Theme No. 1:>Ew... That thing?: Get your shittiest lens and take it for a spin. You got a shitty manual zoom lens laying around? Here we go! You got a cheap Chinese CCTV lens? Heck yee, buddy! The more obscure the better. Bonus points for aperture wide open. • Theme No. 2:>Get out of my room, I'm looking at music: Take a picture related to a song you like. Try to capture the theme and mood of the song. Don't forget to link the song alongside with your picture. [Picture related is meant to be an example. A song I find fitting to it would be "The Far End Of The Bridge - Songs: Ohia] • Theme No. 3:>Great indoors: You guys got plants, right? You know how they got all that nature out there? Yeah, can't have that right now. That spider in the back of your room? Yep, that's nature. Your cute plant standing on your desk? Mhhm, nature got you covered. So do your best and get some nature vibes going without actually being in the nature. Rules: • Submit an image in this thread that you've taken that adheres to the theme • Multiple images allowed, please limit it to 3 or less. • Please don't post specifically asking for critique, post that in the Recent Photo Thread /rpt/ • Submit something taken this month! This month's challenge will start today, on the 5th of May and will end on the 31st of May at midnight (CET - UTC+1). Enjoy!

>>3650302 Are you unhappy with the selection of themes?

>>3650351 Yes. This board is obsessed with themes. Why cant it just be more vague?
Category! Anything in or on your property, beyond that go nuts. You limit peoeples creativity and some peoples ability to participate. Remember, this is a board of hobbies and people who fucking suck.
Give them the freedom to find their own footing and you'll probably get more traffic in the threads.

>>3650366 But the whole point of this is to work with a set of parameters. If you want to shoot anything in or on your property - heck yee, go ahead mate, do that and post in /rpt/. Being as vague as possible really isn't the point of this whole thing. I also try to make sure that there are themes that enable everyone to contribute. You literally need nothing but a camera to create a picture based on a song for example. I get what you mean by being "more vague" but that really isn't the point of these *challenges*.
Also: Giving limitations =\= limiting creativity.
Sorry if I come across as dickish - I appreciate the feedback. These are just my thoughts on what you were saying.

>>3650351 I think it's ok. It's vague enough, and it's something everyone can do. I don't think the point of these threads is super high art, it's people taking photos and sharing results.

>>3650351 I'm mocking this shit in general. Having 3 themes is like having no themes. But when you only had one theme, you were a nazi about what counted for that theme, excluding things that fit the theme. It's a fuckfest.

>>3650386 Dude, the OP that did the old threads (Christmas, food (...) Themes) is gone. I'm another guy. I just picked this up after the old anon vanished. The three themes are there to allow everyone to take part in these, simple as that. I was thinking about maybe shrinking it down to two themes but we'll have to see what the other Anons think of this.

>>3650430 On one side I'm for shrinking, to make it less complicated, on other side, if you shrink it maybe less people will participate, and there's already like five people posting images.

>>3650430 Either way, the last thread has 12 unique photos. With 3 themes, that's an average of 4 photos per theme. That's a pretty abysmal turnout. If you had a single theme, at least you'd have more photos to choose from.

>>3650545 Given the boards speed and general willingness to post photos I'd say that's a pretty okay turnout. With a single theme we'd risk excluding people. Like I said - this is a light-hearted, fun thing. Even if we only get 5 pics in total I'd be happy. The voting became more of a gimmick too actually.

I’m low on camera gear right now, so this is the closest I can get to theme 1. (I wonder if my trip still works...)

>pic rel I quickly edited this on my iPad Pro, so mind the quality. I used Pixelmator Photo; tweaked the white balance, hsl, color balance, and sharpness, then exported as a jpg at half res. I have an alternative angle that I’ll upload, and I’ll try and get to the other themes when I have som free time.

>>3651470 hey it's me again - i just realized it's 3 different themes ... i knew it sounded oddly specific

I'm happy that you like the thread and that it brought you joy!
>>3651452 Heh, I was specifically thinking of these CCTV lenses when writing the text. Nice! Love the dreaminess of your shots!
If you guys have reccomendations for themes to use next month please hit me up. Especially those of you that are unhappy with the selection of themes.
