Anyway, in dartkable just find exposure compensation dial. It'll say exposure 0. 0/ev, or something similar. Then observed histogram while you increase it. You increase it until values are near or touching right side of histogram. Fix contrast a little, and white balance, and you're good.
I'll often shoot bugs underexposed on purpose, especially in sunlight. Camera meter often incorrectly evaluates small details and you end up with too many overexposed specular highlights on bugs.
