Hello everyone!
New here and figured this is the best place to ask this type of question. I normally stick to /g/ but this is something in this boards realm.
I normally just take pictures with my phone, the Huawei P20. It's a great device and I have been able to get pictures I have been satisfied with but of course I recognize it falls short at night and capturing a background greater than 50 yards away in decent detail.
My question is there a good DSLR for an interested beginner like me around $400-$600 that is going to be a worthwhile investment and not going to leave me with purchase regret by next years high end smartphone?
Someone gave me an old Canon that sucks compared to modern smartphones and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
