Many mirrorless cameras let you do it in the LCD some even allow it in the EVF. Ricoh GR, many Fujis, Sony RX100 has a square grid etc. Sony's flagship models don't for some bizarre reason. The nikon Z7 even has 4:5 and some niche ones. Fuji's medium format cameras have the most options.

yes, it does. i don't have a problem with it being digital, i have a problem with people cropping a photo and pretending it's a panorama.

xpan photos aren't panorama, they're just medium format imposed onto 35mm film, hence the 65mm x 24mm aspect ratio.

Offcourse they're panorama. [p]ano awards defines everything from 2:1 format as panorama. Can be cropped, stitched, or gigapixel stiched. But it must be 2:1 or wider, not 1:2 or higher. The ones in op are 24:65 and would not be eligible.
