Why would it matter at all that 'it pales in comparison'. It is like saying that "The jump from M43 to APSC pales in comparison to the jump from M43 to FF", except with an even more huge difference in price. It does not matter in the slightest.
And who cares about film. It is ridiculously stupid to compare medium format film to modern medium format digital. They are totally different things. What was a 'high capacity engine' in the beginning 1900s is not a high capacity engine now anymore either. Definitions change with paradigm shifts in technology, that is just something that happens.
