Thoughts about this thing?

Right now I am about 1 year in that photography stuff, mostly doing shoots of tuned cars. I own a Lumix fz330 and my photos are "ok" with some editing.
The past few weeks I was thinkin about getting an new cam, what you think about the a6000? Heard it's a good Allrounder?

It is an older bargain option.

A more current allrounder might be a A7 III or the A6400. Arguably the A7R IV or A9 II as well, but they're fairly expensive.

Ok I searched it on Amazon and I can pay around 800 - 900 euros for it without a lens. Can't afford that :(

It's a good step up from what you have, and it can work pretty well for your stated purposes. It's also cheap as dirt. You can get similar results from even cheaper Sony cameras like the a5100.

It's not bad by any means but just outdated. There's a lot of newer versions of the Sony A6x00 that are just better and offer more value for your money. Though it is worth noting that Sony A series are among the best cameras available within the APS-C market.
You can always check out the Canon EOS M50. It's not very popular on /p/ but it's the most sold camera in the world for a good reason.

More interested in the bargain bin then? Might be that the A6000 is a good option then.

Still, consider not using the worst kit zoom lenses.

In a relative sense, yes.

But if you can't currently buy the better models + lenses both, the A6000 is of course still a lot better than a smartphone or your fz330.

Sony A6000 takes great pictures and has good autofocus. The downsides are mainly everything else such as shitty menu, low res lcd screen/EVF, etc
I also am not too knowledgeable of Sony APSC lens selection.
If you purely care about taking the best pictures for the least money it's a great option but I can imagine using a camera you know for having a lot of bad features can be frustrating after a while.

Like someone else said the EOS M50 is more of a complete package

I had an a6300 and usability and image quality pissed me off so much it almost turned me off photography completely. Cameras are a tool and usability/interface don't show up on spec sheets.

Swapped to Oly EM5ii and Fuji X-H1 and have been happy as a pig in shit since.

I paid $400 for mine brand new. Look at the older NEX7 too if you are going to use manual prime lens with an adapter. The newer A6XXX are only better for autofocus basically.

As someone getting back into takin snapshits or whatever, I bought the a6000 and I like it way more than the old crop DSLR I had years ago. It's sturdy I've taken it out in the rain works good for a lot of different applications. Autofocus could be better but focus peaking in manual can help if you dig around and optimize it to your liking. $400 new with the kit lens isn't bad, it's a very small package and easy to carry around, battery life sucks but I think that's just a mirrorless thing. Here's an example I took on my kit lens.

i bought the a6400 but returned it for an a7 III.
I don't like the ergonomics of the a6400, it's too square, small, and the grip is too small. The a7iii is still pretty small but actually has a grip that I can use, and the full frame sensor is a huge plus over the apsc sensor on the smaller one.

The a6000 is fine.

In new condition, with the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens, its listed on Amazon for 520€ incl. delivery.

Used, you can easily find it for around 300€, give or take. The kit lens is usually thrown in as "freebie." It isn't bad, but it has no other discernible use-case other than on the a6 line.

Menu is fine if you are coming into it new, if you have nothing else to really compare it to. LCD is functional, and can swing out upwards or downwards a little, not side-to-side. You will want to use some savings on a few better lenses. Sigma offers a few nice primes, and I hear Yongnuo has some cheaper options as well.

If you really want something on the a6 line, get the a6300 or a6500. They're better for video capture than the a6000.

The a6400 (and even newer a6600) is still rather new-ish, and over your budget.

>tl;dr - can you do better than the a6000? Sure, but if your budget can't, then its perfect.
