the trick about color correcting is that you really aren't supposed to. Like, don't just "fix it in post". underexposed shots like yours brings out the grain and fucks with the colour palette. Fix your lighting first

What do you mean? I have not corrected any colors. I've just cropped and resized the jpg straight out the camera.

Intention was to get dark photo as a profile picture only friends will be able to identify.

Are you using continuous lighting or strobes? Looking at your exif data it seems you're not using strobes or flashes.
