>>3669685I think it's that women who get seriously into photography get seriously into *photography* whereas most dudes who "get into photography" just end up places like here arguing about whether or not Sony IBIS units explode and whether or not that makes them better or worse than Fuji. So guys are more likely to be crowding boards like this and joining photography clubs while women are booking photoshoots and going out to take pictures.
Based on my experience, the serious photographers I know are about equal male and female. Maybe skewing a bit more towards men because I'm a man and I take a lot of pictures of attractive women and so male photographers who want to do the same thing friend request me a lot. But the two photographers who immediately spring to mind when someone asks whose work I admire most of the photographers I know personally are both women.
