Why is this the best camera I've ever used. Why did it have to be micro four loser. What's wrong with other camera makers, why can't you make this?

They make a FF version of it, the S1 and its derivatives.
Guess what, nobody buys it because its big and bulky and expensive with expensive L-mount lenses to match.
All that futzing and bullshitting around for a bigger sensor.

I keep going back and forth thinking of trading my G9 in for a X-T4 or Sony A7 III but everytime I use it I'm impressed at how awesome a camera it is. It's great for both stills and video.

If the S1 was the same size I would have probably bought it. The L mount lenses are also huge and expensive though.

It was an easy decision for me. The cost of the lenses.

L-mount can thank god it has Sigma on the affordable side.
But E-mount has Sigma and Tamron and Samyang, and Viltrox, and Tokina.

Sony is probably what I will go for at some point thanks to the Tamron lenses but the A7III has a few disappointing aspects compared to my G9.

The subpar EVF and LCD screen, the disappointing video capabilities and IBIS, and I've read the weather sealing is not great (I do a lot of under the rain shooting).

The low light capabilities, better dynamic range and AF are probably worth it though.

Overall I think the G9 IS the better camera but loses due to the sensor. If I didn't need low light capabilities I'd definitely go for the G9.

Been loving my G9 + 100-400mm combo. Got the lens cheap from a grey importer. I really feel like shooting animals is going to be my thing.

I am intrigued by the compactness of micro four thirds but I don't know if its because micro four thids users are casuals but the images I see from these cameras all look very flat, digital and snapshotty.

I got an S1R recently. She’s a beast alright. No decent camera shops here so bought online. The “bigger than the competition “ statements in reviews aren’t even close.
I still love it though, but smaller would be better, it’s a shit of a thing to hike with. Sony’s semi functional touch screen is a deal breaker.

I don't have the editing knowledge to properly put it into words but the images don't have the same "3D effect" you see from other full frame and aps-c cameras. And I am not talking about shallow dof. And the tones? look harsh and less soft than on bigger sensors.

There’s a lack of detail and definition due to the smaller size. M43 was mainly for people who wanted to believe they could get the same IQ from a smaller body. But no amount of marketing changes the laws of physics.

Look at actual 6x6 and 6x7 medium format photos and then look at 135 photos with the same film. All you'll see is better signal to noise ratio and the obviously increased resolution. The size of an image plane having that much effect is such nonsense

I went from MFT to FF, so I think I know what you mean. The extra light captured from a larger sensor gives the scene more depth in it's details and can extract more data from less light. That's why the subjects appear to have more "pop".
