Unless you need perfect infinity focus, you could go with a glassless adapter that doesn't add even more flange distance as 0,5 mm is realy close and most of the time you don't focus to infinity.
Hell, some lenses even focus beyond infinity, so you could under some circumstances actualy get a useable infinity focus.
Though I'm not sure if they make such an adapter, but it's not impossible to make one as the MD bayonett is physicly smaller than the EF bayonett.
I'd need to measure that out next week, I have two rather interesting MD lenses and an EF-S body myself.
Maybe I could build such an adapter from a M42 lens to EF-body adapter by dremeling out a few parts or straight up convert the lenses.
The Tokina 60-120 mm f/2.8 constant aperture zoom MD lens would work rather well in combination with the 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 EF-S kit lens after all...
