dont listen to the tards that tell you to just use your smartphone; you won't nearly get the image quality you'll get with a DSLR, and zooming on any camera phone is a fucking joke compared to the cheapest poorfag-tier canon 4000D paired with a $100 75-300 mm f/ 4-5.6 lens

the 4K on the SX740 HS is a meme; it's literally an sx730 HS with 4K added in as an after thought. if you read or watch reviews on the 740, youll see complaints about how soft the 4K appears, with people generally preferring the 1080p setting
i wouldn't get it over a DSLR though; i only bought the camera because i wanted a decent video camera that could zoom, and it's pretty compact which is nice. stills are acceptable, but nowhere near the quality found from my 4000D (the SX730 doesn't shoot raw images)
