It was merely to show that what anon said about 'the lens having mediocre corners' is not true.
Also, the 1.8s is 400something grams, not nearly 900. Sure it is double the weight of the 1.8G, but you do get incredibly good image quality in return. Actually, if you include the FTZ adapter they are nearly identical in weight.
