There's no point in shooting manual when priority modes will do the job, especially not if you're just mindlessly following the light meter in the viewfinder and therefore doing exactly what the camera would be doing in a priority mode. I'm in manual maybe 20% of the time and like 18% of that is working with non-TTL off-camera lighting, only 2% is a situation where I actually need to override the camera because it gets things wrong.
Knowing how to expose photos and work in manual when necessary isn't impressive, it's literally the most basic bread and butter skill in photography. Being proud of shooting in manual all the time for no reason is like thinking you're Takumi from Initial D because you drive around with your automatic shitbox in paddle shift mode.
