Nigger, shoot raw. Expose for your highlights to maximize the SNR of the image, and so that you can raise the shadows in post minimizing noise. You can usually raise the shadows by at least 3 full stops even in most baby MFT cameras, while highlight recovery is very limited.

That means: expose enough to saturate the sensor without blowing highlights and losing data in them. Some highlights being blown is fine, like specular lights on a corner of a piece of glass or metal, or streetlights. But when an entire sky or your subject is blown so severely you cannot recover detail in post, you fucked up. That's all it is.
