It's so uniform and tanky and every time you fire it, you hear this tactile "thwop" of the mirror coming up and the shutter firing, it's the same reason I love the RB67 which feels like shooting a bolt-action rifle.
The F I can go anywhere and shoot whatever I want and no one can say shit because I look like a pudgy college student in film class. It doesn't feel like a camera it feels like a family heirloom or an old Ferrari, Nikon really turned the camera world upside down when they released it in 1959. Some of the best images in the world were made on these things. The fit and finish is glorious on them, the seals are made of cloth not cheap ass foam. I can smash Charlie's skull in with the prism finder and take their picture afterward for the Stars and Stripes.
Let's be honest, I fucking suck ass but the F is the most fun I've had with an old film camera I don't care if my pictures suck ass I have a great time with it and if you've been thinking of getting one, do it they're cheap.
The Df is nice too, has all of the same merits (and public perception) of the F but digital. I love them all, every one of those bastards does something different and I do use them all, but if I had to shoot one camera for the rest of my life (assuming I could get film indefinitely) it would be the F.
