You guys act like there's some unspeakable sin to understanding the technical side of photography, but every. fucking. artform. has a technical side that the great artists all understand and practice. You just don't know it because you're too pleb to be anything but a dabbler. Do you think sculptors don't have an understanding of the material science involved in their media? Do you think illustrators don't know the difference between water, alcohol and solvent-based markers? Or the difference in types of paint? Even totally abstract art like poetry has strict rules for meter and prosody.
It says volumes about your own work if you think that the less you know, the better you are.
