I would never trust something that could overheat and postpone a shoot without warning. Backup cameras are for emergencies, not daily occurrences. The short battery life is also a hard pass. I'm not trolling. Those are just the two main reasons that stopped me from putting a 10k order in with B&H.

The eye AF and RF lenses are tempting, but they ain't there yet. They need a camera that works reliably. Maybe next time.

It won't overheat when shooting stills. Which is what I will be using mine for.
Expect Canon R5 photothread when I get mine anons.
I also promise full and honest report on overheating with a YT video showing when it does and how often.

That's right. I shoot stills in flat profiles in camera and edit them for how I want them to look afterwards.
Filmmakers shoot in S and N log all the time and have to color grade afterwards for the look they want. Is that dumb too?

Is not an effective argument. The reality is that it doesn't matter what SooC stills look like. If you know how to properly color correct it's a non issue. If you care about how your stills look SooC then more power to you. But claiming you have superior knowledge about something without presenting said knowledge is idiotic.

Remind me why mirrorless is worth it? Because it makes it easier to focus or expose despite taking identical pictures to any camera from the mid 10's?

I'll buy a mirroless camera when they come with a global shutter. That would be a real improvement. Current mirrorless cameras often have shutter shock because the mechanical shutter has to close first before exposure can begin. The shutter of a DSLR is already closed and the mirror is usually dampened so there is no problem with mirror slap.
