>>3704831>>3704831I think the point of my original post went over your head. I'll try one more time.
Whenever the whole FF vs whatever topic happens on this board, which is like once a week at least, somebody else comes trying to swing their dick around about medium format.
>"look at me, my film plane is bigger!! Stupid digifags, your sensor isn't even that big, you also have crop because it's smaller than mine" Yet ultimately, their film plane isn't even the biggest out there. So really, if you're going to go down that road, you should know that your film is also a "crop" of a larger film plane.
Of course none of it really matters right, you just shoot the format that's good for you right? Except if that were REALLY true, this thread wouldn't be a thing, and you wouldn't be justifying your camera system choice as a "sweet spot". There's some kind of term for this, it's a psychological phenomenon where the brain has a big ego and has to protect itself, so it convinces itself it's perfect and awesome. Just like when you're driving you think everyone slower is an idiot, and everyone faster is a crazy asshole, you think that anyone with a smaller film or sensor is a "seething sensorlet", but anyone with a larger film plane is "PFFFFFFFT NOBODY NEEDS THAT!!! I CAN HAVE THREE CAMERAS FOR THE PRICE OF THAT ONE"
And yes, I really do think LF is sort of the photographic endgame, if you really wanna go there. Let's be honest: none of your shots couldn't have been done on a view camera, yet you decided to buy three cameras instead of just one, when all the film put in them is the same and they also take the same pictures. Talk about gearfagging, honestly.
