I cant be the only one who thinks that street photography is pretty creepy? Imagine coming home from work and some asshole takes your picture and frames it on his wall as "art" because its black and white.

I didn't say it wasn't art, it is, its just trashy low tier shit stain art for the uneducated. Contemporary street photography has lowered the bar to the basement floor.
Mostly due to such a low barrier to entry from the unwashed.

Pet photography is definitely the saddest genre.

really though, random snapshits of strangers are yawntier. it sucks that proper documentary photography (a la magnum) that entails a body of work shot over many many years now gets lumped into "street photography" with a focus on single images. Proper documentary photography is what all these street memers are trying and failing to emulate.
