>>3705646> can adapt cheap lenses to itNo just stop OP.
I hate this fucking mentality, buy the camera body so you can use the lenses built for it.
I always wanted a Leica M mount camera, not necessarily a Leica body but some sort of M mount rangefinder. I went with the P because it was a cheap option at the time. Fast forward to now and I've replaced it with a Minotla CLE, which I've adapted some LTM lenses onto it (Super Rokkro 45mm, APO Lanthar 90mm) because LTM to M is 100% compatible with rangefinder coupling. Adapting M42 lenses to M39 might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard, just get a M42 body? Even adapting other SLR lenses to other SLR is stupid imo.
The canon P is NOT small, it feels more compact than an SLR since it's pretty much a rectangular box but it's still pretty big, not to mention it's made out of brass it's heavy for a camera of that size but it does feel good in the hand. I've attached pic related to show you a size comparison of the P compared to some other bodies. That Canon EOS body is around the same size and a APS-C Canon DSLR.
I agree with the first post and would say look at a Minolta body they haven't seem to be hit by hipster tax yet, specifically one from the XG series. The XG series are electronic but I've heard they're super reliable. Also as Suger stated maybe consider a Pancake lens Minotla has the Rokkor-TD F/2.8 45mm, I had a pancake lens for my Ricoh XR-7 and it was a very nice little setup.
>K1000Don't bother you don't get a lot out of a body like that and prices are fucked, if you want a small K mount SLR setup get a Pentax ME and 40mm pancake, it's one of the smallest SLR setups.
