I like 30-35, although I’m on apsc so I guess I’m a 50mm fag.
Weirdly, my every day lens was a 50mm for years. That’s more like an 80mm portrait lens on apsc.

28mm is better than 35mm. Almost all smartphones have a 28mm equivalent lens.

I have no bias for a focal length, but for most of my work it’s not really a good fit... that said, my all time favourite photo from an expedition was taken in the equivalent of 35mm... but it was the focal length that worked at the time.

The sway some folks talk about the “nifty fifty” I always assumed 50mm was the most popular format for enthusiasts. I’m surprised how many people here prefer 35mm.

I just got a sigma 30mm (48 mm equivalent) for my Eos m50. Wonder if I fell for a meme

Landscape photography experiences a sharp increase in quality with focal lengths of 50mm+ (full frame equivalent). Short telephotos like 50 or 55 on crop are excellent for it.

50mm works just fine for street, you can isolate subjects better and it let's you stand further away. Henri-Cartier Bresson used 50mm and he's like one of the most celebrated street photographer.

I like it very much, although I find it too wide at some situations. On the other hand, 50 is much too narrow for me, I guess I should try 42 at some point, seems like a sweet spot. Still, I prefer to have it too wide and crop a little bit if needed.
