The very long exposure trick with 700+ most likely doesn't apply here, because your unmodified camera already sees what's around 590, while IR is no-go. So, unfortunately, I expect you'll get a very overexposed green picture with a tint of IR.
The point of 550-665nm filters along a modified camera is to have a bit of the visible spectrum (green-yellows) leak alongside what your sensor sees in IR, while not overpowering it.

I know, it's a tough cookie. Keep reading, make an informed decision before you butcher your camera. Preferably, get a 2nd hand cheap camera (that probably has very little IR filtering to begin with) to convert.
