>>3721498It's as expensive as a manfrotto but it's fucking nice. Not a bit of plastic anywhere on it. All the bits that look like plastic on the ads and pictures are cast magnesium alloy. Totally awesome build quality. I can't imagine any other comparable style tripod beats this thing in build quality.
A monopod is more portable than a full tripod guaranteed, it's one stick versus four in the case of mine. But, I honestly don't see much use for one, as my tripod is compact enough I can carry it like one would a monopod, I personally don't need the ground real estate when I'm shooting that a monopod would give.
I guess what I'm trying to say is if you're going to bother carrying a monopod why not get a combo from a tripod, as tripods can leave a camera free standing and enable low light, long exposure photography. A monopod is a compromise, tripods can be had not that much bigger than a mono, and the only time I would personally use a monopod is shooting at an event perhaps when I don't have room due to a large crowd being present. My friend does video work and uses my monopod for that as well, at weddings and stuff.
If you're looking to get one, I suppose you could go cheap as all you need is a stick to hold your camera. I just personally always go tripod first, mono for backup, which is why I like what I have because if I anticipate needing a monopod I can convert it in 2 seconds but it also allows me all the benefits of a tripod when I want one.
You dont have to spend a bunch of money on a monopod or a tripod monopod hybrid combo thing like mine, there are other brands, though TLT does also make some monopods. I just went with what I did because I honestly don't plan to ever buy another tripod for general use again.
