>>3759076>incremental updatesOnly a problem with the OM-D. Panasonic don't have this same issue.
>lensesEither get 1 zoom lens, 1 telephoto or a whole bunch of prime lenses.
>Mk. II lensesMostly improvements to hardware, improving reliability/performance + new firmware.
They make sense from a perspective of discontinuing older lenses and replacing them with improved versions that basically are the same, meaning that you're not killing off the lens entirely *cough* SIGMA.
>MemePhone 12So the solution to a tiny sensor with tiny ass focal length is to just put more sensors and lenses???
There was a point in time during the DSLR stagnation of years ago, when phones could probably take an overall better picture than a point and shoot, or entry level DSLRs, but the shift in cameras towards greater specialisation means that there are certainly reasons why you wouldn't like a phone. The best ones I can immediately think of are to do with zoom and focal length.
Taking portraits of people, for example, is best achieved with a good fixed focal length. Nature photography isn't going to abandon telephoto anytime soon.
>MFT in current yearYou're probably right, if I were to buy a new camera, I'd probably go with L-Mount, thanks to it being a rather effective open ecosystem of bodies and lenses.
But I have an MFT camera already, it's still good, and I'm not gonna dispose of it because of some fancy marketing. The day SD cards go obsolete will be when MFT cameras stop being useful.
