>>3733119You can sometimes get a refurb D7200 for $500.
Just to explain what the other anon is saying though, the D3300 doesn't have a built in autofocus motor, so if you want to autofocus, you would have to buy a lens with autofocus like their G series lenses. But with the D7200, since there's a motor in the camera, it can autofocus with older lenses like the D lens. Btw both cameras can use the same lenses, you just have to live without autofocus on some with the D3300.
The worse viewfinder really was a pain, imagine composing a shot and then having to always keep in mind that a little bit extra is gonna show up in the shot on the edges so either crop them after or just anticipate that extra space. And the viewfinder being smaller and darker makes it much harder to manual focus which plays into the issue of no autofocus motor for some lenses.
I had a D3100 and used it for 8 years before I got a D7200. It was a big jump. But I am happy I got so many years out of the camera. If it's within your budget then I think it's a worthy upgrade.
Btw I think 18-55mm is shit. Poor build quality. All plastic on the mount. I didn't like any of the images out of it. A 35mm or 50mm f/1.8 will be a really fun alternative.
