>>3731019>First, the diagram is not based on measured ISO values, but on the ISO values specified by the camera.Which is irrelevant.
>Second, the downward arrows indicate that the actual dynamic range is lower due to the noise reduction applied, while the upward arrows indicate a scaled (non-native) ISO range.>MUH NOISE REDUCTION!Who cares? It's a 45mp sensor and whatever NR they are applying does not result in an observable drop in resolution vs. other high resolution sensors.
>There are educated claims MUH ANONYMOUS SOURCES. Just say "dude on a forum" next time, don't puff it up.
>that the actual DR value for camera ISO 100 is about 2/3 lower, or 1/8 lower for camera ISO 640, i.e. similar to the DR offered from the 1DXIII:Let's assume that's true for sake of argument: who cares? 1DX3 has excellent DR.
>All in all this means that making claims for the "best sensor" based on this date is nonsense! >DR IS ALL THAT MATTERS GUYZ!* 45mp
* Fast, reliable AF at 12 fps.
* Best high ISO noise right now (granted by a small but visible amount).
* Over sampled 4k with low rolling shutter.
* 8k
* Either best DR in 35mm or DR that is only slightly less than the best in 35mm.
* Canon color.
Yeah...still calling it the best 35mm sensor right now even with 1DX3 DR. Which is a bullshit claim any way if, as a practical matter, I can sit down to Photoshop and push shadows as hard as on the competition. I don't care how that's accomplished, I dgaf if it's done with slight NR in camera if that NR doesn't harm my image.
