Let’s say you’ve got $2000 to spend.
You might go for a $1000 camera and $1000 lens, or a $1800 camera and $200 vintage lens.
I shoot a lot of night shots, so a full frame body with ibis and a clean 12800iso, with a $200 vintage f1.4 (t1.6) lens will get me there.
I also like shooting footage with a bit more bloom and lens flare. I actually like distinctive lens characteristics. I could’ve got the Contax Zeiss lenses with hexagonal bokeh, but I went for the shuriken version.
So I’ll spend my money on stuff that works for me, and you buy whatever garbage the marketeers tell you that you should like.
