>>3733954because the sad sad truth is that photography as a visual medium is dead. not just dying. dead. film had a last hurrah with the hipster crowd a few years ago but that is gone now too. it's all about video and multimedia. even boomers are making pretty damn good video content and distributing it on places like youtube. people arent interested in photographs as content, they want video or even games and even then they have to be a part of a narrative. we as a society have become so spoiled and over saturated with visual media that poor photography simply got left behind.
and i think even for the slower anons who don't realize this at a lucid level, they at least "feel" it and thus their aggression at the death of probably the only hobbyist pursuit they ever were decent in, and hence over invested, comes out here and on other places online.
it is sad really. we are all in this together but really we will be the last audience we have for one another's content.
