digitizing vhs-c

No.3738973 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Shalom everyone. Recently bought a camera that works with VHS-C cassettes the same as in the pic - Panasonic RX70. She is working and everything seems to be in order with her, I did not check only one thing - I did not digitize the footage from her.

My first question is - if there is a proven guide for home digitization (and I saw a similar one about self-developing film, I think there is a similar one for cassettes), then please share.

The second important question is whether you need a VCR to digitize the material, or can you get by with a capture card (for example, EasyCap or AverTV, as in the second pic), since this is VHS-C and the camera itself can reproduce the footage?

Otherwise, there are minor questions that I would also like to hear answers to if you are doing self-digitization or have dealt with it:

1. What software is better for work?

2. What manipulations with the cassette should be done before digitizing? Like, rewind to the beginning / end, something else ..

thanks for answers
