>>3745099The hate is from Fuji users who for some reason target Sony. Still not sure why exactly. I got my A7s used in 2015 and still use it to this day.
Sony has the most amount of third party support and widest selection of lenses. Their lenses are excellent. Third party lenses are also excellent. Adapting lenses also works great. It’s also the only brand with a decent used market in mirrorless. They have the best AF, though you won’t get that on an original A7 mk I.
What do you want to shoot is the question? That will determine the lens and features you need.
The bad menus thing is a meme, it is not well laid out and organised and you have to search through it yes, but desu I rarely touch it, I don’t need to change anything in a menu before or during shooting. Everything I need is on a dial or button.
I’d also pick Sony for size and weight. My setup is 871g with an 85mm 1.8. The brand new version of the Sigma 85mm 1.4 ART is also very light weight. I also enjoy shooting with it, and it’s made photography more fun since getting it.
Some of the Samyang lenses are really great too.
The worst Sony lens might be the 50mm 1.8, it has slow AF, but it did come out with gen 1. The 85mm 1.8 is amazing though.
