I personally hate discord and have tried to use it in the past. I find the interface confusing and overly complicated, plus the fact that none of it is secure communication (not that I have anything to hide) bothers me.

In theory the ability of real time communication would be possible. "Hey I'm going to shoot this today where should I go?" "I have shot there check this out" rather than here which would be "I'm going to shoot this today" three days later "Check this out" another 3 days goes by "I'm already home"

ISO1250 delivers perfectly fine quality though in these cameras. Less fiddling with settings leave it higher for any conditions that end up a bit lower light than that, more shooting.

This is a straw man, as I did not claim that avoiding motion blur is less important. In this example one does not deny the other.
I was just thinking, Natgeo is a different number. I already know that a great photo doesn't have to meet any technical requirements, and although I'm unfamiliar with the genre, that in wildlife photography it's more the situation that counts. But for example ravens are difficult to photograph in front of a daylit sky. There cameras easily show their limits.

But maybe they'd realize: Oh my gosh, the gorilla has details in this very special shot, but the background is clipped for the most part and very disturbing! Into the trash it goes.
Obviously the photo in this case did not end up in the trash as there's nothing to complain about.

But the way I see it is that if most of the group members come from /p/ it is just going to end up shit posting and gear faggotry in real time. Maybe not today or tomorrow but in a week or two.

If you want to talk about photography semi-competently your literal only option is isi's server, they're surprisingly good conversationalists
but you also have to deal with getting @everyone'd randomly at 3 in the morning to look at a picture of a candle shaped like a butthole or something.

There hasn't been one bit of this on there. Of course we discuss gear but in a manner of "What lens would work better for this type of shot?" "Is X brands 50mm good, I have a Y brand mirrorless and I am looking to adapt.". I own a 12 year old Nikon and 8 year old Ricoh, they happen to be the two cameras that suit me best. I wouldn't push my shit opinions on anyone.
