I bought a new camera yesterday and went street shooting about an hour ago. I got one nice photograph when I asked the guy at the liquor if I could take his picture, but other than that I walked around for an hour and shot nothing. My hometown is kinda lacking in vibrancy, and most of the people around here take it the wrong way if you ask them for a picture. It's not like when I used to live in San Francisco during college when there was something interesting on ever corner. I'll be moving back there in January, so maybe I'll get more out of my camera there.

I need tips on street photography. My only issue is approaching people. I've got awful anxiety so when I approach a person I don't know if they're going to yell at me or try and steal my camera. My main rule is to always ask someone if I can take their picture, but how can I even do that if I'm afraid of people? Not only that but there's also the whole pandemic thing going on. I don't want to interact with a stranger that's possibly sick and bring that home to my family.
